New Employers

Joining SPEC Super

At SPEC Super, we make super, simple. That means you can look after your business while we look after your employees’ super.

Any employer who has employees working in the electro-technology industry or any other industry can participate in SPEC Super.

The SPEC Super Employer Handbook has been designed to advise employers on how SPEC Super operates and sets out the basic provisions as they currently stand.  It should also assist in answering questions about the Fund from members or potential members.  The Guide is not a substitute for the Trust Deed which is the legal document governing SPEC Super.  You can obtain a copy of the Trust Deed by contacting SPEC Super on (07) 3238 1472.   Participating employers will be advised of any alternations that are made to the Trust Deed.

Step 1 – Complete the Employer Application form

New employers have the choice of becoming:

  •  A Participating Employer; or
  •  A Registered Employer.

A Participating Employer is one who signs a Participation Agreement, which binds the employer to the provisions of the SPEC Super trust deed, including the timely remittance of contributions.

A Registered Employer is an employer who has completed the application form, but has not agreed to be bound by the trust deed.

New employers should complete and sign the Employer Application form contained within the Employer Handbook after obtaining and reading the SPEC Super Select PDS.  There is no cost to join SPEC Super as an employer.

The completed form should be forwarded to SPEC Super, SPEC Super, PO Box 1109, Milton  QLD 4064 or Fax: (07) 3236 0714.

If you have any questions or would like assistance to complete the form, please contact SPEC Super.

Step 2 – Add your employees as SPEC Super members

New members

When a new employee commences who is not a SPEC Super member, add their details to your next Contribution Return, have them complete a Member Application form and forward the form along with your next Contribution Return to SPEC Super.

Existing members

Existing members should produce their membership card as proof of SPEC Super membership when starting with a new employer. Existing members do not need to complete a Member Application form.

Their existing membership number and other details should be noted on your next Contribution Return.

Step 3 – Making contributions to SPEC Super
